Periodontal Disease (Gum Disease)

Do you have bad breath? Do you have bleeding or swollen gums?

More adults lose their teeth due to periodontal disease than any other single cause.   Symptoms can include bad breath, bad taste, loose and/or sensitive teeth, swollen and bleeding gums and gum infections.  Over 80% of our adult population has some form of gum disease-from early beginning periodontitis(which can be easily treated and contained) to moderately advanced and advanced stages that may require aggressive laser or surgical treatment and may have questionable or poor prognosis.  We take periodontal disease very seriously;  treatment modalities include deep cleaning (scaling & root planning called SRP), antibiotics, periodontal laser treatment, splinting, bone grafting and rigorous hygiene (perio) maintenance.

Patients with diagnosed periodontal disease are treated with a highly individualized regimen with treatment tailored to the patient’s individual and specific needs.
